Kim Wilcox has been involved in the arts actively since the early 70's. She has graduated from the College of DuPage Honors Scholar Program. She is currently Vice President of the Downers Grove Artists' Guild and Secretary of the Alliance of Fine Art. She won second prize in the 1979 Downers Grove Artists' Guild Fall Art show and went on to participate in the AFA Best of the Best art show at Triton College. Kim's philosophy of artistic creativity is, everyone has the power to attract inspiration. While basic instruction uses the step-by-step method, class demonstrations get students yearning to start creating their own art. As the student continues to achieve a level higher than their last personal best, they are encouraged to create more art. Positive reinforcement from the teacher and others helps the student relax and enjoy the process that develops over time. Skill building is always gradual, but developing artists learn to truly believe in their power to attract inspiration which is can bring fantastic results. It is Kim's firm belief that whatever you truly want and care about will be attracted to you if you follow through with education and hard work
