October 9 through November 8, 2007
Dianne Martia and Dennis Salaty were selected to exhibit in the Contemporary Symbolism show, a juried exhibition of work by regional artists, from October 9 through November 8 in the Christopher Art Gallery at Prairie State College. The reception will be Friday, October 12, from 4:30-8:00 pm. The address is 202 S. Halsted Street, Chicago Heights, phone (708)709-3500. Dianne and Dennis will also exhibit at the Chicago Art Open from October 4 through 27, at Iron Studios, 3636 Iron Street, Chicago, open 11am-5pm daily.

DGAG Member Nancy Staszak received an IAEA (Illinois Arts Educators Association) grant this summer to travel to Santa Fe to study with Navajo printmaker Michael McCabe. The workshop was "The Expressive Monotype", a flexible and creative form of printmaking using painterly techniques. Some of the work she did there will be exhibited at the St. Charles Norris Gallery "Expressions 2007" show from September 7th to October 11th. This is a dual show featuring Art teachers from Illinois and printmakers from Gray's School of Art at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. The closing reception is 7:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 11th.

Nancy has a piece of work accepted into the annual Illinois Art Open. That show will be October 4 - 27 at the Iron Studios in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. The Art Open Benefit is October 5th, 6 - 8pm. ($20 per person at the door)

The Electronic Gallery exhibition at the Illinois State Museum Chicago Gallery in the James R. Thompson Center will include ten works by Nancy Staszak. That presentation will be held on Friday, October 26th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Nancy will also have work up at the LaGrange Public Library during the month of October with the Midwest Collage Society.
